CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free issue in the Linux kernel has been identified, specifically in the virtio-blk component. The issue occurs when the hctx->user data is set to vq in virtblk init hctx(), but vq is freed on suspend and reallocated on resume, resulting in hctx->user data becoming invalid after resume. This can cause a kernel crash. The issue is related to the virtqueue add split function and can be triggered by accessing the invalid hctx->user data.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
