CVE-2022-50175

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the tw686x video initialization function. The video device alloc() function allocates memory for vdev, but when video register device() fails, it does not release the memory, leading to a memory leak. This issue is resolved by calling video device release().
Recommendations To resolve this issue, ensure that video device release() is called when video register device() fails to prevent memory leaks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
