VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue is related to the coresight devices, which track their connections and hold a reference to the fwnode. When a device is removed, the references are not properly dropped, leading to a use-after-free condition. This can cause additional refcount drops on the fwnode, resulting in warnings and potential system instability. The vulnerability is related to the coresight remove match() function not clearing the fwnode field after dropping the reference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
