CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the initialization of Xen timers in the KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) module. The issue occurred when the kvm xen init timer() function was called multiple times, causing a crash when the vcpu->arch.xen.timer was already set. This led to an ODEBUG crash with a stack trace involving debug print object(), debug object init(), debug hrtimer init(), and other functions. The fix involves adding a check for existing Xen timers before initializing a new one.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
