Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue concerns the Linux kernel, specifically on arm64 systems that implement FEAT EPAN. The problem arises because UXN (User eXecute Never) is not set on the swapper page tables, resulting in denied read/write access to the idmap. This leads to a kernel panic when
idmap kpti install ng mappings attempts to access idmap kpti flag. The fix involves setting UXN on the swapper PTEs.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
