| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Tournament Bracket Generator plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.0
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'bracket' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 1.0.0, consider disabling the
bracket shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to pages that use the bracket shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script execution. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the bracket shortcode until the issue is resolved.Fix
