Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: RT-Thread versions up to 5.1.0
Description: A critical vulnerability was found in RT-Thread, affecting the functions sys device open, sys device read, sys device control, sys device init, sys device close, and sys device write of the file components/drivers/core/device.c. This vulnerability leads to memory corruption and can be exploited locally. The vendor was contacted about this issue but did not respond.
Recommendations: For RT-Thread versions up to 5.1.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the affected functions sys device open, sys device read, sys device control, sys device init, sys device close, and sys device write until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable file components/drivers/core/device.c to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
