CVE-2025-38094

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A possible deadlock in the macb halt tx function has been identified. This issue occurs when, after setting THALT high, TGO stays high as well, causing jiffies to never be updated due to interrupts being disabled. As a result, the loop never exits, leading to a deadlock. This deadlock was observed on a sama5d4 device, which remained locked for days. The issue has been resolved by using retries instead of jiffies, ensuring the timeout works and preventing deadlocks.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
