Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel when using one-step timestamping. This occurs because when one-step sync timestamping is run, the hardware is configured to insert the TX time into the frame, making it unnecessary to keep the skb. As a result, the frame is never released since the hardware does not generate an interrupt to indicate that the frame was timestamped. The issue is resolved by freeing the frame in cases of one-step timestamping.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
