Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A potential crash issue exists in the Linux kernel when disabling and re-enabling the network port. The issue arises because
phydev->devlink is not cleared when the link is deleted, leading to a crash when phy attach direct() fails before calling device link add(). This causes device link del() to access a NULL pointer. The crash log indicates the call trace involves device link put kref(), device link del(), phy detach(), phy attach direct(), phylink fwnode phy connect(), and phylink of phy connect().Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
