CVE-2025-38157

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A malicious USB device can send a WMI SWBA EVENTID event from an ath9k htc-managed device before beaconing has been enabled, causing a device-by-zero error in the driver. This can lead to either a crash or an out of bounds read. The issue is resolved by aborting the handling in ath9k htc swba() if beacons are not enabled.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
