CVE-2025-38169

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, specifically related to the arm64/fpsimd component. The issue occurs when a thread's kernel FPSIMD state is restored during a context switch, potentially causing the state to be clobbered. This happens when the CPU is in streaming SVE mode before the context switch and an SMSTOP is executed, resetting FPSIMD/SVE/SME registers. Systems without SME are unaffected.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
