CVE-2025-38258

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A memory leak exists in the Linux kernel due to improper memory management within the memcg path store() function. Specifically, the function allocates a new memory buffer for filter->memcg path without deallocating the previously allocated buffer. This allows users to leak kernel memory by repeatedly writing data to the memcg path DAMOS sysfs file.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
