Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains an issue where a refcount warning occurs in the
tipc aead encrypt function. This is triggered when calling get net() on a network namespace during its destruction, specifically when a TIPC discovery timer activates during network namespace cleanup. The get net() call, introduced in commit e279024617134, attempts to hold a reference to the network namespace, but can lead to a use-after-free warning if the namespace is already being destroyed.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
