Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the pinctrl subsystem, specifically within the at91 component. The
at91 gpio probe() function does not validate the availability of an OF alias, potentially leading to an out-of-bounds access when indexing the gpio chips array. The BUG() check, intended to prevent this, can be disabled during compilation, bypassing the necessary validation.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
