Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the fbdev core and fbcvt functionality that could lead to a kernel oops due to a division by zero error. This occurs in the
fb cvt hperiod() function when mode->refresh is equal to 0x80000000, causing cvt.f refresh to overflow and become zero during calculation. This zero value is then used as a divisor, resulting in the error. The issue was discovered by the Linux Verification Center using the Svace static analysis tool.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
