Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the Server Message Block (SMB) implementation. Under low-memory conditions, the
close all cached dirs() function may fail to properly manage dentries, leading to a "Dentry still in use" error during unmounting of CIFS shares. This occurs when the function is unable to move dentries to a separate list before dropping locks. An error message has been added to clarify this specific scenario.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
