CVE-2025-38369

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to the dmaengine subsystem and the idxd driver. When running IDXD workloads within a container with the /dev directory mounted, termination of the container's parent process can potentially lead to a kernel panic or call trace. This occurs because Docker may not correctly propagate mount replica information, resulting in attempts to complete work on a destroyed workqueue (WQ). Specifically, the issue arises when the user driver detaches, and the system attempts to call destroy workqueue() on a WQ that no longer exists.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
