Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the regulator/gpio subsystem where insufficient memory is allocated for the
drvdata::gpiods array, leading to an out-of-bounds access when the number of GPIO descriptors (config::ngpios) exceeds one. This issue occurs because memory is allocated for only a single pointer, while it should accommodate multiple pointers based on config::ngpios. The code has been corrected to allocate sufficient memory for all GPIO descriptors.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
