Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to Squashfs filesystem handling. A Syzkaller report identified a “shift-out-of-bounds” bug occurring when mounting a Squashfs filesystem concurrently with an ioctl operation. Specifically, the
sb min blocksize() function can return 0, leading to an invalid value being assigned to msblk->devblksize log2, which subsequently causes a shift-out-of-bounds error in squashfs bio read().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
