CVE-2025-38443

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux Kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a use-after-free issue within the network block device (nbd) module. Specifically, the nbd genl connect() function does not properly stop the device on certain error paths after nbd start device() has been called. This leads to the recv work function continuing to use configuration data after it has been freed, resulting in a use-after-free condition. The issue occurs when nbd->config is put in the error path while recv work continues to use it.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
