Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s DRM/Exynos subsystem, specifically within the exynos7 drm decon driver. A race condition can occur during boot if another console device (such as a TTY serial) is supported, potentially leading to a kernel panic. This issue arises from the handling of vertical blank (vblank) interrupts and can be triggered when attempting to handle vblanks without proper validation of the DRM device’s capabilities. The kernel may dereference a null pointer, resulting in a system crash.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
