CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the industrial I/O (IIO) backend that can lead to an out-of-bounds write. Specifically, when writing to a buffer, a string terminator is written without a boundary check, potentially causing a write beyond the allocated memory space. This occurs when the input exceeds the buffer's capacity.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
