Description
This issue allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Alpine iLX-507 devices. User interaction is required, specifically, the target must connect to a malicious Bluetooth device to trigger the flaw. The vulnerability stems from insufficient validation of the length of user-supplied data before copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer within the implementation of the AVRCP protocol. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to execute code in the context of root.
