Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Sflog! CMS version 1.0
Description:
Sflog! CMS version 1.0 contains an authenticated arbitrary file upload issue in the blog management interface. The application includes default credentials (admin:secret) and permits authenticated users to upload files through the
manage.php interface. The upload process does not validate file types, allowing attackers to upload a PHP backdoor to a web-accessible directory (blogs/download/uploads/). Once uploaded, the file can be executed remotely, leading to full remote code execution.Recommendations:
Change the default administrator credentials (admin:secret) immediately.
Implement robust file type validation on the
manage.php upload endpoint to prevent the upload of unauthorized file types.
Restrict access to the blogs/download/uploads/ directory to prevent direct execution of uploaded files.Fix
