Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74
Description
The issue is related to the
drm mode vrefresh() function in the Linux kernel, which attempts to avoid division by zero by checking if htotal or vtotal are zero. However, it may still result in a division by zero error due to the calculation involving vtotal*htotal.Recommendations
For versions prior to 6.6.74, update to version 6.6.74 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
drm mode vrefresh() function until a patch is available.Exploit
