Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A null pointer dereference issue was reported in the btrfs file system. The issue occurs when the extent tree root is corrupted, causing the extent tree to be NULL. The
btrfs search slot() function does not check if the target root is NULL, resulting in a null pointer dereference. A sanity check for the btrfs root has been added to btrfs search slot() to resolve the issue.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
