Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.15.0-rc7.20250520.el9uek.rc1.x86 64
Description:
The Linux kernel contained a flaw where the CPU could become locked up while setting per-page memory attributes during operation in kvm vm set mem attributes() with a sufficiently large amount of memory (1TB+), specifically when running an SEV-SNP guest. This could occur when setting memory attributes on the whole range of guest memory, potentially leading to CPU soft lockups.
Recommendations:
Update the Linux kernel to a version later than 6.15.0-rc7.20250520.el9uek.rc1.x86 64.
