Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s comedi subsystem, specifically within the pcl812 driver. An unchecked integer value,
it->options[1], received from userspace, can lead to a bit shift operation that is out of bounds. This occurs when checking for a supported IRQ number. The vulnerability is triggered when the value of it->options[1] is negative or exceeds the allowed range, potentially causing unexpected behavior or system instability.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
