Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains an issue where an unbalanced regulator disable can occur in UTMI PHY mode during transitions between USB roles. Specifically, when transitioning from USB ROLE DEVICE to USB ROLE NONE, the code incorrectly attempts to disable a regulator that is already disabled if it is marked as always-on. This results in warnings related to unbalanced disables for regulators like VIN SYS 5V0. The fix involves moving the regulator control logic to the
tegra186 xusb padctl id override() function and ensuring that the regulator is only disabled when transitioning from USB ROLE HOST to USB ROLE NONE, by checking the VBUS ID register.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
