Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A memory corruption issue was identified in the
dmaengine subsystem, specifically within the nbpfaxi component’s probe() function. The vulnerability stems from loops iterating beyond the bounds of the nbpf->chan[] array, leading to potential memory corruption. A check was added to prevent out-of-bounds access during data copying from the irqbuf[] array into the nbpf->chan[] array when handling error IRQs. A subsequent check on the "chan" iterator was removed as it was no longer necessary after the loop correction.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
