Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's ath11k module related to the handling of SRNG (Scatter-Gather Random Number Generator) lists. Specifically, the
initialized flag for these lists is not properly reset during deinitialization, leading to potential kernel panics when attempting to dump SRNG statistics after a crash recovery. This issue occurs when ath11k hal dump srng stats() is called on stale, deinitialized lists. The root cause is the failure to reset the ->initialized flag within the ath11k hal srng deinit() function. This can lead to a page fault and ultimately a kernel panic.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
