| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NodeBB version 3.11.0
Description
A persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows remote attackers to store arbitrary code in the 'about me' section of their profile. This enables attackers to execute malicious scripts on the website.
Recommendations
For NodeBB version 3.11.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the 'about me' section of user profiles until a patch is available. Restrict access to this section to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
about me section in user profiles until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
