Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the hfsplus filesystem. Syzbot reported an issue where a mutex lock check in
hfsplus free extents could trigger warnings and errors during concurrent operations, such as file release, attribute modification, unlinking, and block retrieval, potentially leading to instability. The issue arises from multiple threads attempting to lock the shared extents tree, causing a warning when one thread attempts to lock the tree while another already has it locked.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
