Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The
rtw89 core mlsr switch() function in the Linux kernel is susceptible to a shift wrapping issue. The link id value, obtained from user input via debugfs, can exceed the maximum allowable limit (BITS PER LONG), potentially leading to an out-of-bounds access. The security impact is limited as only root access is required to write to debugfs files.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
