CVE-2025-38673

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A revert was implemented to address an issue where the dma buf field in the drm gem object structure became unstable during the object instance's lifetime. Specifically, the field could become NULL when user space released the final GEM handle on the buffer object, leading to a NULL-pointer dereference. Previous workarounds did not fully resolve the problem, particularly for buffer objects without an associated DRM framebuffer. The revert returns to using .import attach->dmabuf.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
