Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to the xfrm state management. Specifically, the
state ptrs variable is not initialized early enough within the xfrm state find function. This can lead to issues when preemption occurs, potentially causing the function to use uninitialized memory. The issue arises when a state is matched for one CPU while the lookup started on another, leading to incorrect state handling in the "acquire" block.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
