Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the drm/xe/migrate component that could lead to infinite recursion and a potential kernel panic. This occurs when handling memory alignment during buffer migration, specifically when a bounce buffer is allocated on the stack and is misaligned. The issue arises because the fallback mechanism to use a bounce buffer doesn't guarantee proper alignment, leading to repeated function calls and eventual stack exhaustion.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
