CVE-2025-38703

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the drm/xe subsystem related to DMA fence handling. The driver may free data pointed to by DMA fences before all references are released, potentially leading to a use-after-free condition when the fence is accessed by a third party. This occurs specifically with the timeline name and shared lock associated with multiple queues. The fix involves ensuring a Read-Copy-Update (RCU) grace period between signaling a fence and freeing the associated data.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
