CVE-2025-39673

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The ppp fill forward path() function contained race conditions. Specifically, the ppp->channels list could change between checks for emptiness and accessing its first entry, potentially leading to a panic if a channel was deleted during this process. Additionally, pch->chan could become NULL before being dereferenced. These issues were addressed by implementing a lockless RCU approach, utilizing list first or null rcu() for safe list access, converting list modifications to their RCU variants, and adding synchronization after removal, as well as checking for a NULL pch->chan before dereferencing it.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
