CVE-2025-39686

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The insn rw emulate bits() function, used as a default handler for INSN READ and INSN WRITE instructions in the comedi subsystem, does not correctly handle multiple samples as indicated by the insn->n value. This function emulates INSN READ or INSN WRITE instruction handling with a constructed INSN BITS instruction. The issue occurs because insn rw emulate bits() currently only handles a single sample, while INSN READ and INSN WRITE instructions are expected to handle multiple samples. This can lead to kernel-infoleak errors when insn->n is greater than 1.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
