CVE-2025-39700

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.16.0-rc5-mm-new-damon+ #93
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw in mm/damon/ops-common.c where the damon migrate pages() function attempts page migration even if the target node is invalid. This can occur when users make invalid requests via DAMOS MIGRATE {HOT,COLD} actions, potentially leading to a kernel BUG, specifically a page fault in alloc frozen pages noprof(). The issue arises from a missing validity check for the target node, similar to the check present in do pages move().
Recommendations Update to Linux kernel version 6.16.0-rc5-mm-new-damon+ #93 or a later version to address this issue.
