CVE-2025-39727

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A buffer overflow issue exists in the setup clusters() function within the kernel's swap management code. The vulnerability occurs because setup swap map() only validates badpages against the range of 0 to last page, while maxpages might be less than last page. This can lead to a buffer overflow when badpage is greater than or equal to maxpages. The issue is resolved by ensuring inc cluster info page() is only called for badpage values less than maxpages.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
