CVE-2025-39734

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.16-rc1
Description A flaw was addressed in the Linux kernel related to a reversion of a commit that replaced inode trylock with inode lock in the NTFS3 file system. The initial removal of conditional lock acquisition was intended to resolve a bug identified during internal testing. The reversion resolves a deadlock reported by syzbot, and the original bug no longer occurs on kernel version 6.16-rc1 during internal testing.
Recommendations Update to kernel version 6.16-rc1 or later.
