Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue is related to the
drm/amd/display component, specifically in the dml ceil/floor helpers. The wrapper functions for dcn bw ceil2() and dcn bw floor2() did not check for granularity, which could lead to assert and divide-by-zero errors in the dcn bw functions. To fix this, a check for granularity 0 has been added.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74, update to version 6.6.74 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
drm/amd/display component until a patch is available. Restrict access to the dml ceil/floor helpers to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the dcn bw ceil2() and dcn bw floor2() functions in the affected kernel versions until the issue is resolved.Exploit
