Description A security issue exists in KDE ark where a maliciously crafted archive containing file paths beginning with "/" allows files to be extracted to locations outside the intended directory. This is due to an issue in libarchiveplugin.cpp.

Recommendations For versions prior to 24.12.0, update to version 24.12.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the libarchiveplugin.cpp functionality until a patch is available.
