| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Import any XML or CSV File to WordPress PRO plugin versions up to, and including, 4.9.7
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG File uploads due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.9.7, update to a version later than 4.9.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting SVG file uploads or disabling the functionality that allows these uploads until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict access to Administrator-level accounts to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
