Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains an issue in the
drm/msm module. The msm ioctl gem info set metadata() function lacked error handling for krealloc failures, potentially leading to a NULL pointer dereference. The fix adds a check for krealloc failure and returns -ENOMEM to prevent this issue. The allocation flag GFP NOFAIL was explicitly avoided due to deadlock risks and allocation constraints.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
