Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the BPF (Berkeley Packet Filter) subsystem related to range refinement after a JSET instruction. A kernel warning can occur due to a range invariant violation on a BPF program, specifically when refining the register bounds after a JSET instruction. This issue arises because the verifier walks all branches, leading to inconsistent bounds on an unreachable path. The problem is triggered when refining register bounds using a second condition after a JSET instruction.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
