VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s btrfs subsystem within the btrfs copy root() function. Specifically, if an unexpected extent buffer generation is encountered during cloning, the transaction is not aborted, potentially allowing metadata with an unexpected generation to persist. The issue is addressed by aborting the transaction and returning an error code when an unexpected generation is detected.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
